Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the Manufacturing Business Plan:
- Formulate and execute the yearly
manufacturing plan to deliver the business objectives of the company
including production volume, manufacturing controlled cost, quality and
safety aspects, capacity and improvement strategies. - Ensure the alignment of the manufacturing
organization with the company vision, purpose and priorities. - Ensure the integrity and quality of the
manufacturing data on the ERP system
Production Outputs:
- Direct work assignment in staffing,
scheduling, coordinating, and planning in various sections of the
operations department to achieve budgeted output - The incumbent will oversee the
manufacturing operation consistent with the company operating guidelines. - Ensure that the production is cost
effective and that there is strict adherence to consumption norms.
Production Quality:
- The incumbent will manage the adherence to
prescribed procedures and standards to ensure first pass quality that
meets or exceeds planned goals. - Ensure all products are manufactured to approved
product specifications (PPAP) - Promote company-wide quality improvement
efforts.
Environmental, Health & Safety:
- Develop and manage the Environmental
Management System based on EIA commitments - Develop and deploy emergency preparedness
and response plan
Productivity Improvement:
- Establish procedures for maintaining high
standards of manufacturing operations, product quality, reliability and
safety. - Establish a formalized productivity
improvement programme incorporating lean manufacturing and continuous
improvement principles. - The jobholder will evaluate and develop
improved techniques for the control of operations, quality, reliability
and safety.
Manage the key performance achievement of subordinates:
- Track competencies of subordinates and
provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives. - Establish individual accountability using
coaching and support and performance management process.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Degree-level
qualification in Engineering or Industrial Chemistry. - A minimum of ten years of process
knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment is required. - The Production Manager should demonstrate
a high level of technical and managerial ability, great attention to
detail and has demonstrated high level of maturity, good business acumen ,
exceptional leadership skills and has the ability to get results. - Working experience in an environment of
capturing manufacturing data on the ERP system and computer literacy.
