We have a rich experience in several industries ranging from Oil and Gas,
Insurance and financial services among others. They would like to recruit for a
valuable client, a distributor of premier and international personal care
products and confectionery brands and products such as Colgate, SC Johnson,
glade, Mr. Muscle, Cadbury chocolate, Axion, Protex, Palm Olive, Sta Soft, Tang
among others and that her client is into the distribution of premier wines and
spirits but on a low scale that it would like to scale up this product segment;
Her client deals with dealers and distributors for upcountry markets, direct
distribution in Kampala via direct distribution to retailers,
hyper-supermarkets and A & B class supermarkets.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The Marketing Manager will be making and
    identifying the need for company products in the market. Monitoring the
    product process and movements in the respective fields and developing as
    well as execute product, launches, promotions and demonstrations
  • Tasked with managing the marketing budget
    on a day to day basis. Monitoring and reporting any market conditions that
    would hinder product selling. Where need be out-sourcing external
    marketing teams for promotional activities where required.
  • Developing the annual Marketing plan.
    Timely generating and submitting of monthly marketing status. Assist in
    identifying, monitoring and actualizing business opportunities
  • Producing innovative and cost-effective
    promotions both in print and online Promoting and bargaining for funds
    from different principles.
  • Formulating and implementing creative
    marketing strategies that will make an impact, support the brand and drive
    sales
  • Tasked with monitoring and coordinating
    day to day activities of the merchandising team. Coordinating with the
    sales team to promote CU products. Supervising and monitoring the sales
    field team during POP placements.
  • Taking good record of promotional materials
    and make sure the promotional materials
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Effectiveness of promotional and
    advertising activities
  • Accuracy in reporting any price or market
    challenges and changes.
  • Co-ordination with merchandisers.
  • Maintenance and distribution of
    promotional and advertising materials.
  • Brand Performance
  • Effective management of marketing budget
  • Communication & coordination with
    principles.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant should preferably hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in a Business Course preferably marketing.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in
    a similar position especially with FMCG.
  • Professional Sales & Marketing
    qualification such as CIM will be an added advantage
  • Excellent organizational and
    prioritization skills
  • High levels of creativity
  • Strong verbal and written communication
    skills
  • Good levels of numeracy
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency
    in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good brand building skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and
    written communications skills
  • Self-starter in meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to use a computer and strong
    analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team building
    skills.
  • Highly energetic, Innovative and creative
    person.

    intelligence and be willing to travel extensively in the field.
