Technology Manager
established under the Lotteries and Gaming Act No. 7 of 2016 which came into
effect on 8th April 2016. The Act is supported by a set of 5 Regulations which
came into effect on 28th May 2016. The
law mandates the Board to regulate the operations of lotteries, casinos and
betting houses (Industry).
Responsibilities:
- In charge of monitoring of all Information
Technology based systems - Responsible for monitoring the operation
of the central monitoring system - Offering system support to the central
monitoring system at the regulator premises and operator premises. - Investigating machine tempering and
attempts to manipulate the feed in to the central monitoring system.
Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system - Provide orientation to new users of
existing technology - Mentor and train staff about potential
uses of existing technology - Train staff about new and potential use
- Provide individual training and support on
request - Provide recommendations about accessing
information and support - Maintain current and accurate inventory of
technology hardware, software and resources - The jobholder will troubleshoot all
technology issues - Maintain log and/or list of required
repairs and maintenance - Make recommendations about purchase of
technology resources - Provide network access to all staff
- Install work stations
- Connect and set up hardware
- Load all required software
- Provide network accounts and passwords as
required - Monitor security of all technology
- Install and maintain Foolproof and
passwords - Input and maintain IP addresses
- Guide staff of security breach and/or
change in password or security status - Ensure installation of lock out programs
- Identify and prepare hardware for disposal
when appropriate - Ensure hardware is stripped and secured
before disposal - Perform any other related duties as
required.
Experience:
- The applicant for the Lotteries and Gaming
Regulatory Board (LGRB) Information Technology Officer job opportunity
should hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information
communication technology. - Professional certificate in System
Administration, software development, computer networking (CISCO Network
Associate/Professional), MCSE, MCP, MCSA or any other relevant IT professional
qualification. - A minimum of five years of work experience
in a reputable and busy organization - Member of a relevant professional body
- Good leadership skills, high ethical
standards and integrity - Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills
