& Safety Officer will ensure that the provision of all Health & Safety
activities are carried out within the company in a professional, effective and
efficient manner
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Health & Safety
Strategy for the Company - The jobholder will develop, implement and
review Health & Safety Policy and procedures - Manage, audit and report Health &
Safety compliance and incidents - Manage and review health & safety
budget and initiatives
Experience:
- The applicant should have an accredited
professional Health and Safety Qualification e.g. National Examination
Board in Occupational Safety and Health; or Control of substances
hazardous to health (COSHH); or Institution of Occupational Safety and
Health (IOSH) - At least five years’ experience as Health
and Safety Manager - Substantial Health & Safety management
experience gained through working in a country type environment - Project management skills
- Policy development skills
- Skills and experience in developing
administrative systems - Proven ability to solve problems
creatively - Previous experience in managing health and
safety issues in an office environment - Ability to organize a demanding workload
and work within tight
deadlines - Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Site safety management including dealing with
landlords - Excellent interpersonal skills and the
ability to produce clear, concise and appropriate reports and
presentations for the executive management team - Experienced negotiator gained through
either dealing with contractors or suppliers - Previous experience in preparing and
managing budgets - Thorough knowledge of Health & Safety
legislation
