Responsibilities:
- Offer technical assistance related to
gender issues, including conducting gender assessments and surveys and
designing and conducting training on gender mainstreaming - Provide support in project management,
including management of field staff - Act as a key liaison to USAID and other
donors for project interventions and deliverables. - Write project reports and prepare internal
documentation. - Willingness to travel to Uganda up to 40%
of the time.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Gender
Specialist job placement must have at least five years’ experience in
gender and women’s empowerment in international development or related
field. - Previous experience working with USAID,
governments and donor agencies. - Prior exposure and experience with USAID
monitoring and evaluation systems, indicator development and processes. - Experience working on gender topics,
including gender analyses and assessments. - Experience managing teams, projects and
remote management. - Strong knowledge of USAID administrative,
management and reporting procedures and systems - Must have strong oral and written communication
and presentation skills in English - Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency
with Microsoft Office Suite applications. - Ability to work independently.
