- Support the Education Project Officer and
the Project Coordinator in implementing the FCA’s Education in Emergency
and Child Protection project in Bidibidi refugee settlement, Uganda. - Work in liaison with the Education Officer
and the Project Coordinator to initiate and coordinate the planning of the
Education project activities to ensure optimum utilization of project
resources. - Work in close cooperation with the
relevant local authorities, community leaders, relevant civil society and
non-governmental organization collaborating, implementing partners and
other stakeholders where appropriate in order to achieve the project
objectives and facilitate project implementation. - The jobholder will also collect and
tabulate on regular basis field data on project activities carried out and
undertake assessment using participatory approaches for all rights holders
to determine the relevance and impact of the project activities. - Regularly visit all project beneficiaries,
sites where project activities are undertaken, check on progress and
identify challenges, offer support as directed by the Project Coordinator
in line with the project objectives. - Promote active participation of the
refugees, host community, local leaders, rights holders and intermediaries
in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project
activities as required. - Support the Project Education Officer in
the preparation of periodical work plans and reports on project activities
and achievements in line with the requirements stipulated in the project
documents
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Finn Church
Aid (FCA) Education Project Assistant job placement should hold a good
University degree or equivalent in Education, Special Needs Education,
Social Sciences, SWSA, Development Studies or other closely related
fields. - At least two years’ experience in working
with a humanitarian NGO - Previous exposure and experience in
implementing and monitoring formal and non-formal education projects,
Education in Emergency interventions with linkages to Child Protection. - Experience in implementing ALP project
activities. - Proven experience in community
mobilization - Previous experience in networking and
working with local government, international actors and UN agencies. - Yumbe residents will be preferred
