Responsibilities:
- Support the Education Officer and the
Project Coordinator in project implementing - Work closely with other child protection NGOs
in the implementation of SOPs and referral pathways - Work in liaison with child protection
committees in the promotion and observance of child protection issues - The incumbent will also collect and
tabulate on regular basis field data on child protection issues - Regularly visit all project beneficiaries,
sites where project activities are undertaken, check on progress and
identify challenges, offer support as directed by the Project Coordinator
in line with the project - Promote active participation of the refugees,
host community, local leaders, rights holders and intermediaries in the
planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project activities
as required. - Support the Education Officer in
preparation of reports on project activities and achievements in line with
the requirements stipulated in the project documents
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Finn Church
Aid (FCA) Child Protection Project Assistant job placement should hold a
University degree or equivalent in Child protection, Education, Social
Sciences, SWSA or other closely related fields. - At least two years’ experience in working
with a humanitarian NGO. - Previous exposure and experience in
implementing Child Protection and/or Education in Emergency projects. - Proven experience in community
mobilization - Experience with psychosocial support
activities for children considered an asset. - Experience with data collection, and
report writing. - Posses basic understanding of child
protection standard operating procedures and the referral pathways - Previous experience in networking and
working with local government, international actors and UN agencies.
