The International Citizen Service 2 (ICS2) Programme will build on the
strong results and learnings of the ICS pilot and ICS 1 programme in Uganda. It
will continue to focus on high-quality, youth-led and evidence based projects
that are at the very heart of Restless Development’s work with young people.

Job Summary: The Driver will
work closely with the Finance and Administration Coordinator to maintain
Restless Development vehicles and transport staff to programme areas safely. He
/ she will also provide administrative support

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Transport staff to programme areas safely (50%)
- Tasked
with the transportation of staff and goods as required to
destinations as required - Be
available at office premises in time to transport the staff for official
duties within or out of town. - Ensure
that you have a vehicle request for all official travel with staff. - Transport
the staff for all official duties as required - The
incumbent will report any accidents immediately to the nearest police
station and to the field office in line with the policy. - Follow
restless Development guidelines for travelling and speed limits - Respect
Restless Development standard operating procedures for vehicles
use. - Respect
the manufacture’s technical conditions of use for the vehicle.
Maintain Restless Development Vehicle (30%)
- Complete
all required daily, weekly, monthly and other vehicle checks as per
policy. - The
Driver will report to the FAC regarding any maintenance or repair
needs - Accompany
the vehicle to mechanics for repairs and maintenance - Drive
in safe and efficient manner to protect the vehicle and ensure longevity - Conscientiously
report information in the logbook and fuel logbook - Ensure
the vehicle is always clean inside as well as outside. - Perform
daily vehicle pre-departure checklist mentioned in the logbook. - The
Driver will inspect the vehicle to ensure that it is always ready for
travels. - Ensure
the vehicle has a full first aid kit as well as and emergency kit always - Check
that the vehicle has all the items required for efficiency - Maintain
all legal documents in vehicle as required by law - Be
well versed and conversant with vehicle policy
Administrative support (15%)
- Collect
biweekly vehicle use requests and plan accordingly - Create
vehicle use calendar with the FAC - Support
the FAC Aon non-vehicle administrative work as required
Other (5%): Other
duties as required, sometimes requiring working on weekends and holidays
for which time off in lieu can be taken.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicants for the Restless
Development Driver job should possess an active, clean driver’s licence - At
least three years of driving experience - Good
organisational skills - Fluency
in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills - A
strong personal commitment to the values, aims and methods of Restless
Development - Ability
to travel regularly to rural areas and spend nights if necessary - Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills - Ability
to analyse problems and make sound operational decisions - Passion,
enthusiasm and interest in Restless Development’s mission, honest and
trustworthy, willing to engage and support non-financial activities - Broad
knowledge and understanding of contemporary development issues
particularly of Peace Building, Sexual Reproductive Health, Livelihoods,
and Youth Inclusion is desired - Experience
working in a youthful, multicultural environment - Previous
experience as a volunteer with Restless Development or other organization
is an added advantage - The individual must be results oriented,
highly self-motivated, have demonstrated analytical skills and be
comfortable with a rapidly changing environment. - The successful individual will also be
able to establish strong working relationships with staff in Uganda and internationally
