General
Statutory Body under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau Act Cap. 210, Laws
of Uganda 2000 Edition. The Bureau is a key player in commercial and civil
registrations that facilitate private sector development and vital statistics
for national planning.
Business Registration will primarily ensure that the strategic and business
objectives of URSB are achieved as well as facilitate business growth through
directing and managing business operations activities to ensure they are
delivered in accordance with the strategic objectives of URSB and statutory
requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Initiates and reviews policies,
regulations, operational systems and procedures that enhance compliance to
business registration in accordance with the relevant laws and undertake
strategic planning, management and implementation of the business
registration policy. - Keenly monitors compliance of business
registration in accordance with the relevant laws, advices the RG and
management; and follows up on implementation of decisions. - Coordinates with management, stakeholders
and compiles proposals for review and formulates amendments within the
business registration regulations, systems and procedures. - Plans, budgets and prepares work
plans and coordinating field
operations, providing
advice on policy,
regulatory and operational direction regarding business registration. - Reviews contracts/ negotiations /
settlement of cases and makes recommendations on business registrations in
accordance with management and the board decisions. - Develops and implement strategies for institutionalization
of best practices in accordance with core values and rules of the
organisation. - Plans operations of the directorate and
evaluates impact on the achievement of organisational objectives. - Oversees all operations of business
registrations; manage the performance and development of staff in line
with the Human Resource Regulations - Performs any other duties that may be
assigned from time to time by the Registrar General.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda
Registration Services Bureau (URSB) Director Business Registration career
placement must hold an Honours degree in law, social sciences or related
discipline. - Possession of a Masters degree preferably
in Management, law and/or with ICSA other related discipline is an added
advantage. - A minimum of eight years of related
experience in a reputable public or private organisation, four (4) of
which at a managerial level - Knowledge of relevant legislation relating
to registration duties. - Excellent interpersonal, analytical,
mentoring and communication skills. - Ability to liaise and network with other
Government Departments. - Ability to effectively motivate and lead
others/ teamwork skills
