established under the Lotteries and Gaming Act No. 7 of 2016 which came into
effect on 8th April 2016. The Act is supported by a set of 5 Regulations which
came into effect on 28th May 2016. The
law mandates the Board to regulate the operations of lotteries, casinos and
betting houses (Industry).
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out operational and financial
audits - In charge of identifying and surveying
business process risks - Responsible for testing methodologies to
evaluate the adequacy of controls - Tasked with documenting and drafting
reports of the results of the evaluations - In charge of developing recommendations
and reports based on audits and forwarding these to the line manager
Experience:
- The applicant for the Lotteries and Gaming
Regulatory Board (LGRB) Audit Officer job opportunity should hold a
Bachelor’s (Hons) Degree or its equivalent from a reputable University. - Professional Accounting/Auditing
qualification such as ACCA, CPA (U), CPA(K). - Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency
of Microsoft Packages - Membership to the Institute of Internal
Auditors of Uganda - At least three (3) years of auditing/accounting experience
- Knowledge and experience of key computer
Audit packages such as ACI, IDEAs etc. will be an added advantage - Proven good management and interpersonal
skills - Highly motivated, innovative and a
committed team player.
