innovative products and services. DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth
Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the Government of
Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the name of
Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring brought in
DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners
with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to
support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not
appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.
Relationship Manager-Business Banking will execute sales plans to ensure that
all products meet budget commitments. The incumbent will provide responsive,
proactive, proficient and effective banking service to business/wholesale
banking customers, inform them of wealth creation opportunities offered by the
Bank thereby expanding share of business. The jobholder will ensure extensive
personal selling to SMEs, corporate entities, NGOs, local governments &
institutions of higher learning and any other business that falls in that
category. The jobholder will also ensure good retention strategy for the
existing clientele, there by growing the wallet share.
Responsibilities:
- Offer
superior relationship management by ensuring customer retention, loyalty,
preference and devotion. - Sell
the Departments & Bank’s products. - Identify
and disseminate information to & from the market/customers and inform
management on trends, risks and opportunities to maximize &
sustain revenue. - The
jobholder will promote & maintain the highest standards of customer
service in order to maximize the returns from the existing relationships
and attract new business from targeted customers. - Keenly
monitor and enhance the business portfolio risk profile within
agreed parameters at all times together with Risk & Compliance
Department; to minimize non-performing assets and ensure accumulation of
deposits with a view of generating an inexpensive and stable base. - Constantly
explore the enhancement of the Bank’s brand name so that the Bank is
perceived by the target market as one of the best in the SME field in
terms of the service, innovativeness and customer awareness/responsiveness. - Appraise
opportunities for synergy and keep well documented
reports/visits/contracts with all our relationships, the Bank’s management
& other units. - Procure/recruit,
nature and sustain new SME relationships that have potential to grow &
provide superior returns. - Perform
any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by
management.
Experience:
- The applicant for the DFCU Relationship
Manager-Business Banking job opportunity must hold a University degree in business-related
fields. - At
least three years’ experience in banking of which 2-3 should be in
relationship management & sales. - Excellent
track record in sales management. - Ability
to work under pressure. - Comprehensive
knowledge and understanding of all bank products - Computer
knowledge especially spread sheet, word & power point. - Relevant
business experience and acumen. - Outgoing,
self-motivated, assertive and proactive. - A
self-starter and one who is able to meet deadlines. - Excellent
communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. - Be
a good team player who is able to work under minimum supervision. - Excellent
analytical skills and innovative abilities. - Energetic
and enthusiastic. - Ability
to energize others.
