countries.
Job Summary: The User
Experience (UX) Designer will provide design directions and expertise for the
projects and applications developed by the Lab including but not limited to:
user experience and user interaction design, research and consultation for
web-based designs and mobile apps.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Work in liaison with technical team and
    drive product design process for data innovation projects and applications
    developed by the Lab;
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas from users,
    partners and the team and turn them into design guidelines for
    user-centered innovation projects;
  • Work closely with team at the Lab to
    oversee the user experience of data innovation projects and applications
    from conception until launch;
  • Design and specify user interfaces and
    information architecture using participatory and interactive design
    techniques, including observational studies, user interviews, usability
    testing, and other forms of requirements discovery;
  • The jobholder will produce user
    requirement specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flowcharts,
    design prototypes, and design qualifications;
  • Provide design guidelines to inform wire
    frames for data visualizations;
  • Design flows and experiences thar are
    incredible simple and elegant;
  • Work closely with technical team to ensure
    that design specifications are implemented;
  • Design infographics and illustrations to
    showcase results in compelling and creative ways;
  • Support preparing materials for capacity
    building and knowledge dissemination by the Lab with partners;
  • Actively participates in brainstorming
    sessions in the Lab to define activities under Track 1 and track 2.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
The ideal applicant for the United Nations User Experience (UX)
Designer job placement should have eight years of experience in the following;
  • User interface design experience;
    preferably on a web/mobile product development setting;
  • Experience with data visualization;
  • Basic experience with design and prototyping
    tools and a willingness to explore new tools;
  • Qualifying years of experience are
    calculated following the receipt of the first level university degree
    recognized by the United Nations.

    working in a start-up environment;
  • Ability to work directly with internal and
    external clients to define requirements for analysis and reporting;
  • Excellent communication skills.
