Lutheran World Relief is a US non-profit organization that works with
local partners to provide lasting solutions to poverty, injustice and human
suffering. LWF Uganda works to reduce people’s vulnerability, supporting them
to realize their potential, to build on their assets, and to respond to their
own problems and needs. LWF Uganda currently has five areas of operation in
Pader, Kitgum, Adjumani, Katakwi, Sembabule, Kampala and Kamwenge Districts.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Lutheran World
    Relief (LWR) Community Services Officer job placement should hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in social science, project management, community
    development from a reputable institution or a related discipline
  • A minimum of three years of progressive
    experience gained within an international humanitarian NGO will be an
    added advantage.
  • Previous interaction with Persons Living
    with Disabilities (PWD’s) will be an advantage.
  • Previous exposure, experience and skills
    in developing proposals, concept papers and reports writing.
  • Ability to manage a team and relate well
    with the host community.
  • Previous experience in conducting
    trainings, facilitation and capacity building of staff
  • Working knowledge and experience of
    humanitarian principles, SPHERE and UNHCR standards and field security
    protocols and procedures
  • Excellent computer skills in word
    processing, database management, spreadsheets, use of internet and email.
  • Proven academic and/or on-job training on
    ‘Project Cycle Management”.
