About Us:
The Government of Uganda receives funding from the United Nations
Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to support the Uganda Sanitation Fund (USF)
Programme. The USF overall objective is to contribute to the reduction of
morbidity and mortality rates through improved sanitation and hygiene
facilities, stopping open defecation and promoting handwashing with soap. The
project has been implemented in 30 districts and is expanding to eight more
districts, in the sub regions of Teso, Lango, West Nile and South Western
Uganda. The project is managed by the Ministry of Health (MoH) as the Executing
Agency and implemented by the District Local Governments as Sub Grantees.
Job Summary: The jobholder
will drive and maintain Uganda Sanitation Fund Programme Vehicles in accordance
with the transport policy as directed by the Supervising officer.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Drive the Vehicle for official duty and
    assignments.
  • Conduct basic maintenance and cleanliness
    of the vehicle.
  • The incumbent will report major Technical
    mechanical faults to the Supervising officer.
  • Maintain the Vehicle Log book.
  • Keep the Vehicle safe while on duty
  • Prepare timely submit requests for
    servicing of the vehicle to the Supervisor
  • Carry out routine check- ups to ensure
    that vehicle is in road worthy
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold
    a Uganda Certificate of Education /0 level certificate
  • Hold a Valid driving permit
  • Certificate of driving proficiency from
    Ministry of Works and Transport
  • At least three years of driving experience
  • Age: Between 30 to 50 years
