About USAID RHITES-EC Project:
University Research Co., LLC (URC) is implementing the USAID Regional
Health Integration to Enhance Health Services in East Central Uganda Project
(USAID/Uganda RHITES-EC) whose aim is to support the implementation of a
comprehensive integrated investment in regional 
health, nutritional assistance and HIV/AIDS programs. The five-year
project targets 11 districts in East Central Uganda with an estimated total
population of 4.1 million through a district-based integrated package of
quality health, nutrition, HIV / AIDS and child development services.
Job Summary: The Stores
Management Specialist will be primarily responsible for the reception, issue
and custody of all items in the store for the USAID RHITES-EC project.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Ensure that all items received,
    appropriated stored and properly issued out
  • Ensure that the commodity reports are
    produced in time
  • Up-to-date stock cards and perpetual
    inventory maintained
  • Items kept in store in accordance with set
    standards
  • Report on stores situation and
    transactions produced
  • Regularly check all items brought into the
    store and receive them
  • Issue items out of store against properly
    authorized requisitions
  • Regularly update all stock cards and
    perpetual inventory
  • Keep items in the store in accordance with
    prescribed health, safety and other standards
  • Produce store reports on a monthly basis
  • Provide input in maintaining required
    stock levels
  • Ensure cleanliness and neatness of stores
  • Maintain adequate security in the stores
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the USAID
    RHITES-EC Project Grants Assistant job vacancy should preferably hold a
    Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply/Stores Management or its
    equivalent
  • At least four years’ experience in a busy
    store or yard
  • Extensive Purchasing and Supply knowledge
    is desired
  • Stores Management skills
  • Knowledge of storage requirements for the
    specific items stored
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Records management skills
  • Hands-on-computer skills
  • High degree of integrity and honesty is
    desired
