DanChurchAid has supported emergency relief and development programmes in
Uganda since 1979. DanChurchAid works through partners and with a
gender-inclusive rights-based approach, which is mainstreamed throughout all
DanChurchAid programme types as well as within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- The SGBV/Protection Officer will actively
contribute to the successful design and implementation of projects to
prevent and respond to gender based violence. - The incumbent will be charged with
initiating action in the areas of protection, peace building and GBV. - The jobholder will also play a focal role
in identifying gender and protection gaps in DCA programme with a view to
generating ideas for future projects. - The incumbent will provide technical
support to DCA humanitarian action in Yumbe to relevant protection and GBV
standards. - Ensure mainstreaming of protection, gender
and human rights in all DCA humanitarian programming, and adherence to
protection standards and principles as well as DCA Code of Conduct and
accountability standards (CHS).
Experience:

SGBV/Protection Officer job opportunity should hold a bachelor’s degree in gender, law, social development or
other relevant discipline - A
minimum of four years’ experience working with prevention and response to
gender based violence, technical support on GBV prevention, social
norm change, youth development, integration and mainstreaming of gender
and/or violence prevention into projects - Previous
exposure and experience in building capacity of staff, partners and local
institutions on protection and GBV programming - Extensive
knowledge in SASA methodology - Previous
exposure and experience in using mobile and innovative technologies - Excellent
communication skills and ability to write good reports - Previous
experience with other local and international NGOs - Knowledge
of local languages is an added advantage
