Job Summary: The Senior
Program Officer will work in liaison with the country senior staff to identify
potential intervention areas for PATH in Uganda and or globally, landscaping
for potential opportunities, participate in strategic meetings in Uganda and
generate innovative ideas for public health intervention in the country.
Program Officer will work in liaison with the country senior staff to identify
potential intervention areas for PATH in Uganda and or globally, landscaping

generate innovative ideas for public health intervention in the country.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Business and Proposal Development;
- Work closely with the Country Senior
staff, identify potential interventional areas for PATH in Uganda and or
globally. - Lead teams in landscaping for potential
opportunities. - Participate in writing and submission of
funding proposals. - Tasked with networking for purposes of
PATH growth in Uganda.
Uganda strategic plan;
- Work in close collaboration with the
Country Director, lead the implementation of the Uganda strategic plan
that includes linking directly with key program leaders at Headquarters in
Seattle, USA. - Undertake short term activities identified
under the strategic plan as the priorities for Uganda. - Actively participate in strategic meetings
in Uganda.
Assessment/evaluation activities;
- The incumbent will evaluate the
feasibility of introducing various health technologies in Uganda and in
the African region - Generate innovative ideas for public
health intervention in the country. - Track and inform in-country staff and
partners on PATH health technologies and innovations and their development
milestones. - Handle regulatory approvals for PATH
studies in Uganda
Cervical cancer prevention;
- Develop strategic documents for prevention
of cervical cancer. - Organizing regional meetings as needed
from time to time - Act as the liaison with Ministry of Health
and related institutions
Advisory Role; Provide medical advice to other projects in
Uganda as needed or directed by Country Program Leader.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably be a
Medical Doctor preferred with Master’s degree in public health or any
other related field. - A minimum of seven years of total
experience implementing health projects in Uganda. - Previous exposure and experience working
with major donor awards. - Prior experience in development of logical
frameworks. - Well-organized and attention to details
with very strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. - Ability to multi-task, work well under
deadlines and flexible/adaptable to changing priorities. - Excellent verbal and written
communications skills. - Previous experience working closely with
community health workers (VHTs) in Uganda. - Strong networking skills with various
stakeholders e.g MOH and related Institutions. - Strong leadership skills, including a
commitment to collaborative management within a team-based organizational
structure and proven ability to direct change, inspire teamwork and
motivate staff and partners to achieve results. - Must have legal authorization to work in
the Uganda.
