is a multi-purpose stadium in Kampala, Uganda. It is currently used mostly for
football matches, although other sports are also practiced. Mandela National
Stadium Limited was incorporated as a company in 1999 and it’s fully owned by
both the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and the
Ministry of Education and Sports.

Job Summary: The Safety and
Security Officer will be charged with
the responsibility of the maintenance of a safe and secure environment for the
organization’s premises, assets and personnel, and ensuring maximum proactive
security in line with best practices in security management. The incumbent will
coordinate security matters with management, sourced security firm at the
premise and the public security organs as per the needs and procedures. The
jobholder will also assist in upholding the policies, oversee the compliance of
all security guidelines, and act as point of reference for security
communications and reporting to management, while ensuring value for money,
efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:

- The incumbent develops and implements
safety, security, fire and environmental protection system and procedures; - Plan, organize and implement relevant
safety & security activities and programs in enhancing MNSL safe work
culture; - Offer expert advice and support on safety
& security issues to the Managing Director and Heads of Department in
ensuring compliance and adherence to existing relevant local legislation; - Work closely with local authorities on
matters pertaining to safety & security and other safety incidents; - Carry out regular audits and inspection,
and provide recommendations with follow-up to ensure safety & security
performance improvement; - Takes lead of the investigation team with
respect to safety, fire, security and environmental incidents; - Communicates with top management on
safety, security, fire and environmental overview situations in the
company, also other issues and developments; - Coordinates with other Stadia Global
safety environmental teams for continual improvement; - Overviews departmental and company
procedures and recommends applicable actions with respect to safety,
security, fire and environmental matters - Provides leadership during emergencies
and/or accidents - Perform any other tasks/duties that may be
assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
a Bachelor’s degree in Political/Social Sciences, International Relations
or relevant field from a recognized university. - Possession of a Post Graduate
qualification in management is an added advantage - At least five (5) years of experience two
(2) years of which should have been at similar level. - Broad training in the fields of
management, safety & security, law and enforcement experience will be
an added advantage - The applicant should have served in the
forces such as Uganda Army, Police or
Prisons at the level of a commander - Previous experience in the field of
environment and emergency planning. - Effective written and verbal communication
skills - Team work
- Ability to work cooperatively with other
departments - Technology Skills
- Computer
literacy skills - Excellent Planning and Organizational
skills - Proven leadership skills
- Age: Between 35 -45 years
