About Us:
DSW (Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung) is an international
development and advocacy organisation with headquarters in Hannover, offices in
Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, and liaison offices in Berlin and
Brussels. In addition, we are working in partnership with sub-grantees in
Burkina Faso, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, India, Indonesia,
Nepal, and Pakistan.
Job Summary: The Programmes
Manager will render support to programme-related fundraising, project
implementation, reporting and capacity building initiatives.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Manage the implementation of DSW’s diverse
    projects addressing poverty reduction, sexual reproductive health and youth
    empowerment;
  • Ensure sound financial management and
    quality project outputs by DSW and partners;
  • Ensure high quality and timely reports are
    submitted to donors;
  • Actively promote and manage partnerships
    with local and nationai Government institutions;
  • Work closely with national and
    international stakeholders, including donors and international NGOs;
  • Seek funding to sustain and expand DSW’s
    project portfolio;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by
    the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Masters degree
    in social science or relevant development field
  • At least seven years’ experience in
    working with a non-profit organization, of which 3 must be at managerial
    level
  • Broad knowledge of Sexual Reproductive
    Health and Rights and Global Health, family planning and global health
    (required)
  • Previous exposure and experience in the
    management of EU and USAID funded grants
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken
    and written English
  • Proof of successful grant application and
    implementation
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking,
    research and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a
    team
  • High degree of flexibility in responding
    to changing work priorities and tight deadlines
  • Excellent problem solving and
    interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT skills (research applications,
    Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook, PowerPoint)
