Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and
treatment Children’s Clinical Centres of Excellence and international program
offices in 11 countries across Africa, Eastern Europe and North America.
Job Summary: The Program
Officer, Adolescent HIV Care and Treatment will be responsible for providing
technical support to the implementing partners in the implementation and
tracking national scale up plan for Adolescent HIV care and treatment services
in line with Ministry of Health STD/AIDS Control program objectives.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The Program Officer monitors the
    implementation of strategies for coordinating the technical working group
    inclusive of implementing partners in the formulation and implementation
    of National Paediatric and Adolescent HIV policies, SOPs and guidelines
  • The incumbent will also develop and
    monitor the implementation of periodic operational work plans and budgets,
    Bench mark the performance of Baylor-Uganda with other IP
  • Keenly monitor the implementation of
    national strategies, Monitor the Integration and implementation of QI
  • Build the capacity of regional teams
  • Develop and implement strategies geared
    towards strengthening advocacy and community mobilization
  • Formulate and maintain strategic
    partnerships and networks
  • Conduct operation research.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Public Health or health
    related field
  • A
    Bachelor’s degree in Adult & Community Education or Social Work and
    social Administration or Community Psychology or Development Studies
  • A
    minimum of three years’ experience in managing HIV prevention &
    treatment Programs preferably with experience in Adolescents & Young People,
    with a reputable NGO, and direct experience with government and donor
    representatives.

  • Excellent oral and written communication
    skills
  • The applicant must be dynamic
  • Highly persuasive and convincing
  • Self-motivated and able to demonstrate
    high initiative.
