established by the UPPC Act 1992 Cap.30 as a leading Government printer
mandated to provide printing and publishing facilities to the government
ministries, departments, and parastatal bodies .private companies, individuals
and organizations. The corporation prints and publishes all government
legislation and documents and undertakes security printing works.
and Publishing Manager will make sure that there is effective and efficient value
chain and production process taking care of interests of all stakeholders from
supplier to client management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the strategic plans
for the printing and publishing department. - Ensure effective contract management by
availing clear specifications of production requirements and proper
accountability of the same; - Introduce systems to ensure proper value
chain and production process management; - Ensure timely reporting on the
availability of raw materials, work in progress, quality of finished
products, status of machinery and status of client satisfaction proposing
any improvements in the system; - Co-ordinate and effectively plan for
timely production of jobs in the department; - Ensure that quality printing and
publishing works are delivered in time to clients in approved quantities. - Develop, mentor and manage the
departmental staff so as to create an effective and efficient working
team. - The jobholder will also ensure continuous
value addition to the customer requests in liaison with the marketing
team; - Initiate product and service innovations
to foster the Corporation’s competitiveness in the printing market; - The incumbent will ensure that daily
production, stores and engineering reports from supervisors are checked; - Regularly monitor accurate receipt,
recording and processing of orders from customers; - Effectively control discipline and
workshop cleanliness within the printing and publishing section; - Ensure health and safety of staff in the
factory; - Attend management meetings;
- Maintain an exceptionally high standard of
productivity in pursuance of UPPC strategic objectives.

Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
a Master’s degree in a business related course possession of a Bachelor’s
Degree in Industrial Art and Design, Printing or any other related field - Diploma in Printing is an added advantage.
- A minimum of six years’ experience at a
management level in a printing Company, 3 of which should have been gained
at a senior level from a reputable organization; - Full knowledge, understanding and
experience of Printing, Publishing, Designing and Marketing; - High level skills and experience Printing
and familiar with the printing environment both nationally and
internationally; - Ability to influence and of high
integrity; - Previous exposure and experience in
managing, training and supporting staff and handing over responsibilities; - Computer literacy skills with proficiency
in major design packages.
