elaboration of standards and quality of products and services so as to
facilitate fair trade, promote local industries and protect consumers.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Design
a framework for coordinating investigative cases arising out of
surveillance activities in line with the Departmental guidelines, manuals
and procedures for products, processes or services - Work
closely with the Legal Unit and collect data about court cases so as to
handle court cases expeditiously - Collect
and analyse and report trends data regarding services and products on the
market that don’t meet the minimum standards to aid decision making. - Actively
participate in sensitization of stakeholders about their responsibility in
relation to standardization. - Conduct random and purposive follow up
field monitoring checks on selected products and provide feedback to
stakeholders for purposes of improved service delivery. - Prepare
work plans and budgets for the division in line with departmental policies
and procedures - Provide
technical support and guidance to all stakeholders in line with set
standards.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant for the UNBS Principal
Surveillance Officer- Investigation and Ware house Management career
placement should hold a Masters’
degree in Science or any other related field from a recognized
University/Institute - Possession
of an Honours Degree in a science field or any other science
related qualification from a recognized University/Institution - Hold
a certificate in Investigations and prosecution - At
least eight years’ experience in Standards, Quality Assurance, or quality
control, Standards Development or Laboratory Testing after
graduation - Computer
literacy skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the
Internet applications - High level of integrity and
professionalism - Excellent communication skills
- Good teamwork and analytical skills and
needs to be a - Good team player
- Excellent communicator with good oral
communication and presentation skills. - Age: Between 30 and 45 years
