Uganda near the towns of Mbale and Tororo, approx. 190 km from the Uganda
capital, Kampala and close to the border with Kenya. The Namekara Vermiculite
deposit is hosted in the Bukusu Complex, one of a number of Carbonatites in the
Uganda/Kenya border area and the only one known to host commercially viable
vermiculite. Namekara is the registered holder of Mining License ML 4651, upon
which it operates the Namakera Vermiculite Mine and conducts exploration
activities on the Busumbu Phosphate Project. Namekara is also the registered
holder of Exploration License EL 1534 that covers the majority of the Bukusu
Complex and which is also considered prospective for vermiculite, phosphate,
copper, iron, zircon and rare earths mineralisation.
Surveyor will be responsible for making accurate measurements, calculations,
and recordings of all mine workings as assigned. Survey measurements are
critical to the design, planning and safety of the mine and must be accurately
represented on a mine plan.
Experience:
- The applicants must be Ugandan nationals
should hold tertiary qualifications (post-secondary) in surveying. - Computer literate with advanced skills in
MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. - Working Knowledge of any mining software
such as Surpac, Datamine, Micromine, etc will be a distinct advantage - Excellent command of both written and
spoken English. - The applicant must also be hardworking and
willing to learn. - Must be sensitive to the perceptions of
other cultures, and can manage behaviours to suit a multi-cultural
environment. - Prospective candidates must be physically
fit and be able to perform work of a physical nature.
