mortgage, holding a 90% market share.
Job Summary: The Manager
Collections & Work Outs will adequately monitor the Banks overall credit
exposure with a view to minimizing the occurrence of delinquency and ensuring
timely collection and recovery of credits advanced through well thought out
recovery strategies and work out analysis.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The incumbent will ensure the integrity of
    the credit recovery and collection process is maintained by establishing
    internal controls and putting in place clear lines of accountability.
  • Ensure continued maintenance of a quality
    portfolio in line with Bank’s standards as stipulated in policy guidelines
    so as to minimize the provisions and write offs.
  • Formulate, manage and control strategies
    and campaigns with the aim of maximizing collection effectiveness and
    efficiency and recommend changes to the Credit Policy
  • Ensure that the monitoring and recovery of
    any credit facility is compliant with the requirements set out in the
    Bank’s Credit policies and procedures
  • Regularly monitor the quality of the
    credit portfolio and ensure that the portfolio is soundly and
    conservatively valued, uncollectible exposure is written off and probable
    losses are adequately provided for.
  • Provide credit risk technical support in
    the monitoring and collections Committee
  • Identify deteriorating trends and carry
    out work out analyses (refinancing, restructuring) to maintain the quality
    of the portfolio
  • Adhere and monitor compliance to the
    Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) between Credit and its stakeholders  (departments and external service
    providers)
  • Develop lines of communication to ensure
    timely dissemination of credit risk management information and reports to
    all individuals involved in the process resulting from their recovery
    efforts
  • Monitor the performance of the recovery
    team through periodic performance reviews
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Housing Finance
    Bank Manager Collections & Work Outs career opportunity must hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field from a recognized
    University.
  • Possession of a related post-graduate
    qualification is an added advantage.
  • At least five years of progressive
    experience in credit recovery of Non-Performing Assets, and credit
    administration.
  • At least two years’ experience in a
    supervisory role in a credit function of a commercial bank
  • Skills in relationship management, credit
    risk analysis, marketing and credit management, people management
