Job Summary: The Investment
Manager – Britam Asset Manager will build strong research capability through
analysis of market trends; to identify, review and execute investment
opportunities in line with Britam Asset Managers Uganda’s strategic objectives.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The incumbent will assess potential
    investment opportunities
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as necessary for
    presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Portfolio construction and rebalancing in
    line with the set guidelines and regulations
  • Review of Investment Policy Statements
  • Carry out desktop research on possible
    investment opportunities and give recommendations 
  • Analyze due diligence outputs on potential
    investment opportunities in order to contribute to an investment
    decision/recommendation
  • Work closely with research analysts to
    provide high quality strategic advice, research and analysis to our
    clients
  • Maintain a perspective on current and
    future market and economic conditions and industry investment trends in
    Uganda
  • Ensure investments are compliant to local
    laid regulations
  • Adhere to internal risk and compliance
    policy
  • Deliver on performance requirements as
    defined in the business strategy map, balanced scorecard and Personal
    Scorecard.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal applicants should hold
    Bachelor’s degrees in Commerce, Finance, Economics or related field
  • At least two to four years of investment
    related experience
  • Professional certification in
    Finance/Investments
  • Knowledge and applied professional
    understanding of the principles and practices of investments
  • Capital markets, and portfolio analysis
  • Research capability
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Report writing and analytical skills
  • Strategic decision making and initiating
    action
  • Leading and Supervising
  • Persuading and influencing
  • Formulating strategies and concepts
  • Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking
  • Excellent planning and organizational
    skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
