Entebbe Handling Services, ENHAS has been in existence since April
1996. Along the years, our clientele has grown from 5 Airlines to 19 regular
scheduled Airlines, and many more special flights. To develop quality services,
ENHAS have organized to be certified by IATA Airport Handling Manual 804 where
we enter into Service Level Agreements, ISAGO (IATA safety Audit for Ground
Operations) which acts as a model for operational risk and safety management,
DGR (Dangerous Goods Regulations) training centre thus we offer training for
dangerous goods and, very recently by RA3 to screen cargo only from validated
entities as required by EU regulations.

Job Summary: The Internal
Audit Officer will carry out risk-based internal audits, to monitor accuracy
and completeness of information, check compliance with rules, regulations,
procedures and policies and make recommendations to improve the controls in
place.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Regularly review the systems (operations,
mail and cargo, financial reporting, etc) for compliance with procedures,
standards, identify weaknesses and make recommendations for improvement - Carry out investigations of assigned
activities in liaison with the Security department. - Check existence and usage of company
assets and security controls in place to secure the Company’s assets. - Evaluate the operational and financial
risk areas with regard to reliability, accuracy and integrity of
management information systems plus related policies, plans and
procedures. - Determine the adequacy and effectiveness
of established internal controls in preventing and/or detecting errors and
irregularities. - Regularly review all functions and
activities to determine the nature of operations, procedures and related
internal controls to achieve established objectives. - Take part in the design of audit
procedures and programs. - Prepare audit planning memoranda for the
supervisor’s approval. - Prepare draft audit reports and submit
them for the supervisor’s review. - Perform related work as assigned by the
Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should hold a
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Accounting. - Part qualification in a relevant
professional course e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIA, etc.; - A minimum of three years’ experience in a
busy internal audit department; - Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills; - Broad knowledge and understanding of
accounting standards - Good investigative skills;
- Good analytical and problem solving
skills; - Good creativity and innovative skills;
- High level integrity and confidentiality.
- Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency
in MS Word, Excel.
