Uganda covering several districts through 147 networked branches targeting
Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs of Uganda. BRAC boasts of promoting
financial inclusion by extending financial services to the un-served and
underserved, now with over 212,000 borrowing clients, over 150Bn loan book with
98% recovery rate, operationally and financially self sustaining.
Internal Audit will oversee the Internal Audit Department and provide an
objective and independent assurance on the effectiveness, efficiency and
reliability of the institution’s strategic, financial, accounting, business,
legal operations. The incumbent also ensures that the institution has a robust
risk management system, internal controls complies with the laws, regulations,
policies and procedures. The jobholder will also conduct follow up audits to
monitor the adequacy of management interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Generate audit charter, internal audit
workplans, policies and procedure manuals. - Manage and coordinate the BRAC Uganda
Microfinance Audit Function and ensure there is effective communication
between the Audit and all other stakeholders. - Ensure timely preparation and submission
of Internal Audit and investigations reports to Board and management. - The incumbent will evaluate and review
Financial, Accounting and Operational performance of the institution and
all the departments, functions and advice on improvements - Performs any other or related duties as
assigned by the supervisor.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Head of
Internal Audit job opportunity should hold a Degree in accounting, finance
fields and extensive experience in auditing especially at senior
management level, ACCA/CPA is a must, Master’s Degree is added advantage - A member of the recognized Audit body
- A minimum of eight years’ experience audit
of regulated Financial Institutions preferably Credit Institution (Tier 2)
and above of which at least five years at the level of manager.
