change communication approaches to raise people’s awareness of and demand for health
care services for Reproductive Health, HIV, Malaria, and Maternal & Child
Health.
Job Summary: The Head
Marketing and Communication will provide strategic leadership in the execution
of the organizations Social Behavioral change communication, Marketing, Sales
and Corporate communications mandate of the organization. This role will be
responsible for providing leadership in designing, implementing, coordinating
and monitoring the execution of UHMG’s Corporate communication, Brand
Promotion, initiatives and strategy.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Marketing: Work closely with
    both Programs and Product Facility to develop and implement annual
    marketing plans and strategies for all products and services
  • Communication:
    • Steer the development and
      execution of the Social and Behavior Change communications strategy, and
      execute programs to deliver communications objectives throughout the
      organization and to support the organization’s mission, goals and
      objectives.
    • Lead on the development and
      designing of all UHMG communications campaigns in line with the strategic
      plan health intervention areas of SRH, MCH, Malaria and NCDs.
  • Integration: Build and foster
    collaborative relationships with other departments within the organization
    to stay informed and abreast of new initiatives, products and services
  • Resource Mobilization: Identify
    funding opportunities and liaise with the Resource Mobilization unit to
    coordinate efforts to mobilize financial resources. This will include
    being directly responsible for the growth of the Good Life Fund, govern
    implementation, the donor portfolio, and overall documentation.
  • Mentorship: Supervise and
    manage the performance and development of staff in the department in line
    with the Organization’s goals, objectives, policies and regulations
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the UHMG Head
    Marketing and Communication job vacancy should hold a bachelor’s degree in
    humanities, mass communications, or related field. Postgraduate
    qualification in Communications and marketing with a certified
    International professional (e.g. CIM – Associate, Member, Fellow and/or
    Chartered Marketer) will be an added advantage. A Master’s Degree in
    Marketing or Communication is a must.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in public
    relations in a similar role with a good track record of designing and
    executing communication campaigns.
  • Work training and experience in marketing,
    sales, brand promotions, Corporate communications, Media negotiations, and
    engagement & management of marketing and communication vendor
    relations (with the ability and foresight to mitigate risk and to
    indemnify UHMG of any likely risks that may arise out of those
    engagements) offers an advantage.
  • Robust experience in marketing, sales and
    corporate communications at a senior management level.
  • Extensive knowledge of market dynamics
    both in marketing, sales, and Corporate communications.
  • Experience in managing diverse marketing,
    sales and communications teams.
  • Prior experience in managing FMCG’s and/or
    pharmaceutical products offers an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in budgeting and
    exposure to donor compliance regulations is an added advantage.
