Officer- Britam Asset Managers, Kenya

Asset Management, Banking and Property. The product range includes life, health
and general insurance, pensions, unit trusts, investment planning, wealth
management, off-shore investments, retirement planning, discretionary portfolio
management, property development and private equity.
Manager will identify, grow and retain business and manage key client
relationships, in line with Britam Asset Managers Uganda’s strategic
objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Take lead and develop the Britam Uganda
Asset Management business with a focus on Retail, Institutional and
Alternative Asset Management. - The incumbent will set strategy for the
team and perform multiple tasks in order to achieve business goals and
targets which will be reported to the Board of Directors of the Company. - Manage and collaborate with various stakeholders
such as internal colleagues, external stakeholders, management teams,
executives within Britam Asset Managers Kenya and Britam Holdings Group. - Effectively acquire, retain and manage
retail and institutional investment clients and Assets Under Management. - Originate public/private markets
transactions through relationships with banks, advisors, entrepreneurs,
investment consultants and others. - Manage the company’s financial, physical
and human resources. - Effectively work with internal and external
parties to evaluate, structure, finance potential and existing investments
for Britam Uganda Asset Management business. - Demonstrate knowledge and local
understanding of the Ugandan and wider East African investment and capital
markets environment. - The incumbent will develop effective
distribution channels in support of the Britam Uganda Asset Management
business. - Adhere to internal risk and compliance
policy - Deliver on performance requirements as
defined in the business strategy map, balanced scorecard and Personal
Scorecard.

Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
a Bachelor’s degree in a business related degree - A minimum of seven to ten years’
experience in a similar role, three to four of which must be at management
capacity in a busy environment. - Relevant professional certification
- Broad knowledge, understanding and
comprehension of investment, corporate finance and accounting concepts - Knowledge of local regulatory requirements
- Exceptional interpersonal skills –
self-starter, motivated and passionate about the East African market - Strategic decision making and initiating
action – demonstrable experience required - Leading and Supervising
