The Adventist Development and Relief Agency – ADRA Uganda is a
Humanitarian Non-Governmental Organization of the Seventh-day Adventist church
that demonstrates God’s love and compassion. The organization works with people
in poverty and distress to create just and positive change through empowering
partnerships and responsible action. Currently the organization implements
relief and development projects in West Nile, Acholi, Karamoja and
South-western Uganda.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Gender
Specialist job placement should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in any
of the following fields: Community Psychology, Education; Social Sciences;
Counselling and Guidance, Human Rights; Development Studies; Law or any
other relevant degree. - A minimum of three years’ working
experience with vulnerable groups such as refugees, IDPs, and Persons with
special needs (PWDs). - Additional technical training and hands-on
experience on Social Protection; - Gender-Based Violence; monitoring and
evaluation – including data collection analysis and good report writing. - Excellent communication skills;
- Good teamwork;
- Proven ability to work under pressure and
deliver on tight deadlines; - Willingness to work in hardship areas.
- Computer literacy skills
- Possess a valid motorcycle riding permit.
- Ability to speak at least one of the major
languages spoken in West Nile region will be an added advantage.
