pharmaceuticals, education and training, surveys and statistics, advanced
technology, international development, economic and social policy, energy and
the environment, and laboratory testing and chemical analysis.
International Development (USAID) funded Literacy Achievement and Retention
Activity under Cooperative Agreement # AID-617A-15-00009. The 5-year USAID/Uganda
Literacy Achievement and Retention Activity is expanding the Ministry of
Education and Sports (MoES) early grade reading ‘ program and supporting the
implementation of the National Strategic Plan on Violence against Children in
Schools (VACiS) 2015-2020. It seeks to reinforce the implementation of the MoES
2014 Reporting, Tracking, Referral, and Response (RTRR) Guidelines in the 28
implementation districts. The project seeks to fill positions in 10 districts
across Uganda including Bukomansimbi, Mukono, Rakai, Mityana, Sembabule, Gomba,
Gulu, Lira, Omoro and Oyam.
Responsibilities:
- The Program Assistant will support the
implementation of project activities through providing operational support
including logistics, administration, and basic finance tasks in an active,
fast-paced environment. - The incumbent will also establish and
maintain project electronic and paper files, manage petty cash, manage
logistics for regional travel, liaising with suppliers, purchase of
supplies, complete travel expense reports, organizing conferences, and
coordination meetings.
Experience:

Project Program Assistant job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s Degree - At least two years’ experience or a
combination of education and experience in a similar capacity. - Professionals with a wide range of
education and work experience backgrounds are invited to apply. - The candidate must be a highly energetic,
organized, self-starter who can manage multiple talks and achieve results
in a busy office of a fast-paced project. - Applicants should be mature individuals
who can call upon years of experience and support the project during
different implementation cycles. - Previous experience of working on a US
government funded program is required.
