About US:
The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit
organization which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health
specialists. The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems
with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity
Development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve
its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory
services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University – John
Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.
About Project:
As part of its comprehensive HIV/AIDS services, the Infectious Diseases
Institute (IDI) offers free Voluntary Male Medical Circumcision for HIV
prevention in the Mid-Western and West Nile regions of Uganda.
Job Summary: The Logistics
Officer will support the Finance and Administrative Assistant in the management
and storage of key project logistics.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Steer the process of Logistics management
    of supplies in alignment with MOH guidelines.
  • Build Logistics management capacity in
    supported sites, through mentorship and on-site training.
  • Keenly track and account for all project
    related surgical and pharmaceutical products and supplies.
  • Provide support in forecasting and
    quantification of key supplies.
  • Prepare and submit reports on all the
    activities relating to VMMC Logistics management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the Logistics Officer
    job placement should preferably hold a Diploma in Pharmacy.
  • One year of experience in a clinical setting
  • Knowledge
    of pharmaceutical principles, practices, equipment and supplies
  • Knowledge
    of Ugandan law regulating pharmacology
  • Demonstrated
    ability to train other health care workers.
  • Ability
    to use Logistics data for decision-making.
  • Excellent
    report writing and presentation skills.
