Mandela National Stadium Limited often referred to as Namboole Stadium
is a multi-purpose stadium in Kampala, Uganda. It is currently used mostly for
football matches, although other sports are also practiced. Mandela National Stadium
Limited was incorporated as a company in 1999 and it’s fully owned by both the
Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and the Ministry of
Education and Sports.
Job Summary: The Audiovisual
Technician operates and maintains audiovisual equipment and works.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The jobholder delivers, sets-up and
    operates audiovisual equipment (PA, etc);
  • Delivers and set up portable computer
    equipment.
  • Operates audio and video recording
    systems.
  • Cleans, maintains and performs minor
    repairs on components of audiovisual equipment.
  • The incumbent also maintains records of
    maintenance, repair and distribution of equipment.
  • Evaluates audiovisual equipment for
    replacement or repair.
  • Occasionally mounts permanent audiovisual
    equipment such as screens and monitors in the stadium.
  • Recommends audiovisual equipment
    purchases.
  • Perform any other duties that may be
    assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold
    a Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Advanced Craft Part II
    in Electronic/Electrical Engineering Awarded by (UNEB/UBTEB)
  • At least two years of related work
    experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work with,
    maintain  and repair different  audiovisual equipment
  • Strong technical knowledge about
    electrical installations and equipment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective verbal, presentation and
    listening communications skills
  • Highly effective written communications
    skills
  • Good team work
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other
    departments
  • Good team building skills
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational
    skills
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good decision making skills
