Job Summary: The Finance
Manager will ensure proper creation and utilization of all financial resources
in the Company and ensure they are all harnessed for maximum returns to
shareholders. The incumbent is also responsible for capital management issues,
business financing and modeling, fraud and regulation, management and financial
reporting. The jobholder will be expected to demonstrate commitment and loyalty
and perform all duties in accordance with the Company’s office routines and
procedures, keeping in mind the overall business objectives. The position
holder is charged with this responsibility across all the Resolution Health
country offices.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Monitoring, Controlling and Reporting:
    • Formulate annual budgets in
      close liaison with department heads for Board approval
    • Keenly analyze and forecast
      critical financial performance indicators such as loss ratios, management
      expense ratios, reinsurance ratios, debtors’ ratios, etc. Also institute
      cost controls and babble, to adequately explain variances between actual
      figures against budgets/targets. Convey these analyses and
      recommendations to the management and the Board Audit Committee;   
    • Provide financial oversight
      for new project initiatives
    • Prepare financial and
      management reports as required
    • Make sure of prudent and
      efficient financial planning for the Company
  • Ensure optimal cash flow
    planning/management and maximize returns on investment of any excess funds:
  • Management of credit control process with
    the Partner and clients and ensuring debtor days are kept within Company
    approved levels and timelines.
  • Significantly contribute to strategic
    planning and implement agreed strategies in relation to the finance
    function
  • Oversee Accounting systems and Procedures:
    • Ensure effective automated
      financial information systems for the Company
    • Ensure statutory audit
      tarried out within set timelines
    • Ensure the system of internal
      controls is effective
    • Identify and manage financial
      and related risks
    • Ensure that policies and
      procedures meet customer retention goals
  • Ensure effective tax planning
  • Stay abreast with industry and
    professional trends and developments
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
    degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management.
  • Professional accounting certifications
    i.e. ACCA or CPA(U)
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience in a
    similar position
  • Excellent knowledge of insurance
    accounting systems and procedures is desired
  • Excellent communication skills.
