Job Summary: The Procurement
& Supply Chain Officer is mainly responsible for assisting the Procurement
and Supply Chain Manager (PSCM) in designing, setting up and managing the
supply chain which reaches out to the more rural areas and make essential
health products and medicines available in rural areas. The incumbent will also
be responsible for a constant flow of products from suppliers to the end
beneficiaries. The primary responsibility of this position is to undertake the
administrative storage functions of the warehouse essential to practice, with
integrity, while conforming to approved policies and procedures. This position
requires a skilled person with capacity in stores management and inventory
control. The person should have the capacity to work under minimum supervision,
be proactive, honest, maintain an ambient environment, and ensure a receptive
ambiance to HE customers, while resiliently working to fulfil the
organization’s goals, and upholding our Core Values.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Procurement & Supply Chain Officer will be specifically responsible
for the following tasks:-
  • Receive invoiced orders and complete
    customer order processing.
  • Offer technical advice on types of
    products and quantities to procure and distribute to entrepreneurs.
  • Pick and package products for
    delivery/dispatch.
  • The jobholder will also receive and keep
    products in an organized storage system.
  • Ensure proper control of stock, inventory
    and general organization of the warehouse.
  • Undertake stocks and inventory management
    of stocks received and supplied
  • Conduct routine stock-taking and stock
    record reporting.
  • Keenly analyze stock movement and produce
    restocking plans and stock divestitures.
  • Keep the warehouse neat and clean to
    ensure efficient warehouse operations.
  • Actively participate in preparing monthly
    stock statements of inventory.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by
    management.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:  
  • The ideal candidate for the Procurement
    and Supply Chain Officer job opportunity should hold a certificate or diploma qualification
    in pharmaceutical, paramedical or nursing. 
  • Proven
    track record of knowledge and background training in pharmaceutical and
    medical warehousing.
  • Hands-on
    experience in inventory management software and MS Excel.  Training in sales and customer care is a
    preference.
  • Ability
    to prepare inventory forecasts, and analyze and report on the warehouse’s
    position. 
  • Possess
    good record keeping, report compilation, report writing,
    communication, presentation, and feedback skills.
  • Be
    a self-starter, able to multi-task and work with minimum supervision. 
  • Highly
    flexible, innovative, a team player, with good interpersonal
    skills.
  • Ability
    to work under pressure with competing deadlines in a demanding and
    challenging work environment.
  • Ability
    to communicate in English and local language like Luganda.
