Chancellor (Finance and Administration)

Human Resources will be responsible for providing overall management and
co-ordination of the Human Resource function of the University.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will initiate, develop,
implement and review Human Resource policies and practices in the
University in line with the University Strategic Plan - The jobholder will also develop and
monitor HRD annual plan in line with the Human Resources Policies - Develop work targets for the Human
Resource Directorate in line with the Human Resource Policies - Provide secretariat services to other
Committees of Council with a Human Resource component - Mentor and coach Human Resources staff of
the University - Link the Human Resource Directorate with
other Units of the University and the public in line with the University
Mission and Vision - The incumbent will formulate, implement
and monitor organizational development and change management systems and
strategies in line with the University Strategic plan - Introduce and implement competence based
Human Resource Management systems - Design and implement performance
Management and control systems - Perform any other duties assigned by the
Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration)
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
an Honours Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Institution - Possession of a Master’s Degree in Human
Resource Management, Organizational and Industrial Psychology, Management
and Organizational Development or MBA (Human Resource option) or a
Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or Education Management/Planning and a
Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from a recognised
institution - At least ten (10) years working experience
five (5) of which should be at Senior Management level in a reputable
institution. - Computer literacy skills
- Excellent analytical ability
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Very good tactical and strategic planning
skills - Ability to organize, including time
management skills and the ability to complete tasks efficiently - Proficient oral arid written communication
skills - Good team building and conflict management
skills - Broad knowledge and understanding of Human
Resource processes - Good leadership skills
- Age Limit: Below 55 years
