Mbarara University of Science & Technology (MUST), commonly known
as Mbarara University, is a public university in Uganda. Mbarara University commenced
student intake and instruction in 1989. It is one of the eight public
universities and degree-awarding institutions in the country. MUST is
accredited by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
The Deputy
Registrar will deputize the Academic Registrar in the following
responsibilities:
  • Serve
    as delegated or co-opted member to Top Management
  • Providing secretarial services to Senate
    and its Committees
  • Liaise
    with academic staff in relation to students’ academic progress and their
    examination results
  • Responsible
    for admission of students, their registration and graduation
  • Liaise
    with partner institutions in matters of joint admissions
  • Organise
    career visits to schools
  • Deal
    with Alumni and Convocation activities
  • Work
    closely with the Finance Department in matters of students fees payment
  • Maintain
    CEMAS portal system
  • Responsible
    for coordination of Quality Assurance in academic programmes and
    other administrative processes
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Deputy
    Registrar job placement must hold a relevant Honors Bachelors degree
  • Possession
    of a relevant post graduate qualification
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a
    managerial position in a reputable organisation
  • Excellent
    interpersonal relations
  • Excellent
    computer skills
  • Broad
    knowledge and understanding of regulatory agencies in higher education
  • Broad
    knowledge and understanding of Quality Assurance programmes, at all
    levels
