The Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) is a statutory body
established in accordance with the Electricity Act, 1999 (Chapter 145, Laws of
Uganda). The Act empowers ERA to regulate the Generation, Transmission, Sale,
Export, Import-and Distribution of electrical energy in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Corporate
Planning Officer will review and report on Electricity Regulatory Authority’s
performance and effectively implement the corporate monitoring systems and
initiatives.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Develop the Institutional planning,
    monitoring and evaluation Framework
  • The incumbent will coordinate the
    development and compilation of the departmental work plans and align them
    with the Business plan
  • Follow up, track and report on the
    implementation of departmental work plans on a monthly basis
  • Prepare quarterly institutional monitoring
    and evaluation reports
  • Evaluate and report on the institutional
    compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures
  • Prepare high quality annual reports
  • Coordinate the preparation and
    dissemination of key information and institutional reports to stakeholders
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual
    and three year business plans
  • Attend various meetings on behalf of the
    unit initiated by the ESI stakeholders and prepare briefs
  • Assist the Manager, Corporate Planning in
    the coordination of Regional activities
  • Perform any other duties as may be
    assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal applicant for the Electricity
    Regulatory Authority (ERA) Corporate Planning Officer job placement must
    hold an Honors Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics
    or Statistics
  • Possession of a Post Graduate
    qualification in Monitoring & Evaluation
  • At least three years relevant work
    experience
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to set priorities and perform
    under pressure with accuracy and dedication
  • Ability to establish positive working
    relationships at various levels, internally and externally
  • Excellent analytical, drafting and problem
    solving skills
  • Should be result oriented
  • Should be a team player with good inter
    personal skills
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in relevant computer packages.
  • Age: Between 25 – 35 years
