Uganda
established in accordance with the Electricity Act, 1999 (Chapter 145, Laws of
Uganda). The Act empowers ERA to regulate the Generation, Transmission, Sale,
Export, Import-and Distribution of electrical energy in Uganda.
Planning Officer will review and report on Electricity Regulatory Authority’s
performance and effectively implement the corporate monitoring systems and
initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the Institutional planning,
monitoring and evaluation Framework - The incumbent will coordinate the
development and compilation of the departmental work plans and align them
with the Business plan - Follow up, track and report on the
implementation of departmental work plans on a monthly basis - Prepare quarterly institutional monitoring
and evaluation reports - Evaluate and report on the institutional
compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures - Prepare high quality annual reports
- Coordinate the preparation and
dissemination of key information and institutional reports to stakeholders - Coordinate the preparation of the annual
and three year business plans - Attend various meetings on behalf of the
unit initiated by the ESI stakeholders and prepare briefs - Assist the Manager, Corporate Planning in
the coordination of Regional activities - Perform any other duties as may be
assigned.
Experience:
- The ideal applicant for the Electricity
Regulatory Authority (ERA) Corporate Planning Officer job placement must
hold an Honors Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics
or Statistics - Possession of a Post Graduate
qualification in Monitoring & Evaluation - At least three years relevant work
experience - Ability to take initiative
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to set priorities and perform
under pressure with accuracy and dedication - Ability to establish positive working
relationships at various levels, internally and externally - Excellent analytical, drafting and problem
solving skills - Should be result oriented
- Should be a team player with good inter
personal skills - High degree of professionalism
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in relevant computer packages.
