Manager is primarily responsible to plan, organize and oversee all Branch
operations including the supervision of staff and the coordination of work
activities. This position is also primarily responsible for promoting EFC
branding and raising community awareness regarding the products and services available
to fulfill the target market needs.

Responsibilities:
- Direct
all operational aspects including human resources, distribution, customer
service, administration and sales in accordance with EFC objectives - Foster
the development of a strong customer relationship culture to facilitate
the consultative sale of EFC products and services and the
identification and exploitation of business opportunities; - Instil
a business philosophy and orient employees in the EFC vision, mission,
values and objectives through appropriate supervision, coaching and
skills development and appreciative acknowledgement of their efforts; - Advance
the principles of “positive change management” without business disruption
in areas such as the integration of new products and services,
implementation of new approaches or the usage of new tools and
methodologies; - Oversee
and ensure sound security management practices (i.e. cash handling,
customer identification, physical security measures etc.); - Ensure
the integrity of financial and accounting data; - Ensure
full compliance with all customer transaction related policies and
procedures (i.e. account opening, deposit and withdrawal transactions,
loan disbursements etc.); - Oversee
management of the SAF2000 software system; - Take
lead of an initiative to ensure continuous process improvement for
the benefit of all EFC stakeholders (i.e. employees, customers and
shareholders/donors etc.). - Provide
effective and efficient day-to-day leadership and Branch management; - Take
part in the development of the Branch business and activities plan and
oversee its implementation and follow-up; - Participate
to Credit Committee in accordance to the Lending Authority Policy - Manage
the staff of the branch. This includes: - Assign individual objectives
according to the business plan objectives - Follow up the individual
performance - Identify the training needs
of the staff - Provide support to the branch
staff - Participate to the capacity
building of the branch staff - Proving reporting according
to EFC requirements - Collaborate
with and support Human Resources in matters pertaining to Branch
recruitment, development, employee relations, supervision and performance
evaluation; - Provide
training, coaching, development and motivation of the personal - Develop
approaches and activities to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability
of operations and risk management; - Regularly
review and ensure application of policies, procedures and internal
controls relevant to the scope of authority and accountability of the
position and submit appropriate improvement plans and strategies for
consideration and approval as required; - Provide
Branch performance analysis and status reports (i.e. financial and
product / service sales indicators) as required. - Preparing
summary reports for monthly Manager’s Meetings relative to Branch
results and actions required; - Submitting
recommendations regarding objectives, policies and Branch action plans as
deemed required; - Assess
local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales
opportunities; - Tasked
with managing all internal and external communications in
collaboration with the EFC Marketing & Communications Department; - Managing
the employee performance process (individual and group) through team
leadership and motivation; - Applying
effective internal control systems and measures and ensuring sound
management of all Branch control registers; - Supervising
and controlling all Branch operations including closing, cash supply /
reserves, cash counts, security, computer systems and related
deposit / lending / financial and accounting activities; - Identifying
financial services needs in the community leading savings mobilization
initiatives; - Collaborating
with the Internal Audit Department by providing all data / documentation
required to enable the performance of the internal audit mandate; - Perform
any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- The applicant must hold a University Degree in Business
Management, Economics, Management or other related studies; - At
least three years of relevant experience, preferably in the financial
services sector; - Broad
knowledge of microfinance specific to MSE markets would be a
definite asset; - Excellent
management skills including leadership, development and coaching; - Strong
people / relationship skills with a customer sales and service
orientation; - Excellent
analytical skills and sense of judgement - Strong
computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, database, etc.); - Excellent
oral and written communication skills in English. - The Branch Manager requires good practical
knowledge of branch operations and human resource management in the
financial services sector and the foresight to see how the intricate
day-to-day activities link with and support the achievement of the vision
and mission of the EFC.
