About CSU:
Cheshire Services Uganda (CSU) is a local nongovernmental organization
working in the field of disability arid development CSU is a member of the
Leonard Cheshire Disability Global Alliance, a membership of over 55 countries.
CSU works with and for Persons with Disabilities through four thematic
programme areas of Livelihood, Inclusive Education, Advocacy and campaign and
Health and rehabilitation. CSU in partnership with Leonard Cheshire Disability
(LCD) received Funding from a donor to implement an inclusive education project
in Amolatar district.
Job Summary: The Accounts
Assistant will in liaison with the Project Manager and Finance and
Administration Manager will be responsible for financial resources at project
level as well as maintenance of the project’s financial records in accordance
with the organization and donor guidelines
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The jobholder will keep financial records
    for project related activities;
  • Responsible for all financial transactions
    at project level
  • Work in liaison with the Project Manager
    to develop quarterly budget forecasts for project activities
  • Prepare and submit financial reports on a
    monthly basis for review by the Finance and Administration Manager and
    onward submission to the Regional Finance Manager
  • Provide administrative support to project
    personnel which may include procurement of supplies, equipment and
    materials for specified activities
  • Perform any other duties that may be
    assigned from time to time in the interest of the organization by the Finance
    and Administrative Manager.
     
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold
    a Diploma in finance and accounting, commerce, business administration or
    its equivalent
  • Professional qualification in Accounting
    is an added advantage
  • Broad knowledge of accounting packages is
    an added advantage
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in
    accounting and finance in donor funded programmes
  • Excellent track record in accounting and
    financial management
  • Ability to develop budgets, forecasts and
    financial reports
