Friends of Christ Revival (FOC-REV) Ministries Uganda is a
non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, inter-denominational charitable
organization that was established in 1999 by a group of volunteers as a
response to a crisis caused by HIV &AIDS and poverty in rural communities
in Uganda. FOC-REV Ministries Uganda exists to work with the poor and
marginalized rural people to improve their livelihood and increase
self-reliance through education support, health services advocacy, food
security and networking.
About USAID SOCY Project:
Friends of Christ Revival (FOC-REV) Ministries Uganda will be
implementing a Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth (SOCY) project
targeting Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Hoima and Luwero districts, funded
by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through
Catholic Relief Services (CRS). The SOCY project interventions shall be
focusing primarily on OVC Case Management and household economic strengthening
through savings groups and associated interventions and parenting/caregiver
programs.
Job Summary: The Case
Management Officers will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all
Para Social Workers and other volunteers, linking volunteers to training (and
refresher training) opportunities, providing case management services to
households, maintaining CSO cas
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Offer support and coordinate community OVC
    structures and individuals including Para Social Workers in assigned sub
    counties during household enrollment assessment and development of
    household case plans
  • Supervise and work with Para Social
    Workers to manage individual beneficiary cases
  • Support Para Social Workers to initiate
    and ensure completion of all OVC service referrals including; household to
    clinical or vice versa; household to community or vice versa, etc…
  • Work closely with other implementing CSOs,
    project consortium partners and program staff to ensure coordinated
    implementation of project activities and realization of set targets
  • Actively participate in district and
    community level planning, implementation and partner coordination meetings
    or activities with the all the line stakeholders from LG and civil society
    organizations
  • Build and maintain effective working
    relationships with local partners and stakeholders, including local
    government in the respective sub counties
  • Strengthen networks and referrals systems
    to improve access to, coverage of and utilization of HIV/AIDS and other
    core services
  • Send regular reports to the Project
    Officer and other project staff such as M&E and Linkages Officers
    including necessary updates
  • Develop activity and periodic plans
    relevant to assigned sub counties
  • Mobilize and coordinate community meetings
    involving any or all of; Para Social Workers, Village Health Teams, and
    other community volunteer
  • The jobholder will manage the documentation
    including filing and storage of case management tools, sample documents,
    presentations, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Keenly track and monitor case management
    project expenses
  • Document case management best practices
    for sharing across program teams and with CSO and government partners
  • Actively contribute to the growth,
    consolidation and sustainability of FOC REV
  • Represent FOCREV in National and
    International conferences, workshops and meetings to share and disseminate
    research reports, best practices and other project documentaries on
    vulnerable children and youth
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the USAID Project
    Case Management Officer should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in
    Social Work, public health, social sciences or related qualification
  • Possession of a post graduate training in
    child protection methodologies and best practices
  • A minimum of two years’ experience
    implementing case management initiatives with government and/or USAID
    funded projects
  • Previous exposure and experience/knowledge
    of case management identification and assessments, planning, referral and
    support services, monitoring, review and closure tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication
    skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work
    independently, multi-task and take initiative.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and
    demonstrated potential for learning new skills
  • Familiarity with OVC- and HIV-related
    programming
  • Hold a Valid Motorcycle Riding permit
