Job Summary: The Branch
Accounts Officer will safe guard organization resources against loss by
following rules and regulations put in place by the organization to be in line
with BRAC vision, mission, and Values.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The incumbent will record all cash inflows
    and outflows of all programs in all cash registers and reconciling them
    with cash ledger at the end of the day.
  • Tasked with depositing the excess /
    surplus cash to bank at the end of each day, so that there is no excess
    cash in hand or the kept cash in hand is as per office cash limit.
  • Ensure that any cash outflow / payment is
    after verifying the authenticity of the transaction with the approval of
    the supervisor of all programs.
  • Ensure that the loan is being disbursed to
    the real loanee at the presence of the supervisor of all programs.       ,
  • Keep in custody all the important
    credentials of loans. E.g., loan proposal, approvals, disbursement sheets
    etc. i.e. ensure that loan schemes are safely kept at the branch.
  • Update project wise asset register,
    depreciation register, and other registers properly and ensure that the
    fixed assets are identified with numbers.
  • Perform any other accounts related duties



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicants for BRAC Uganda
    Microfinance Ltd Branch Accounts Officer should hold a Bachelors Degree in
    Accounting (B.Com, BBA, Bsc. Accounting) is a must.
  • At least two years; experience in accounts
    function
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High degree of creativity and innovation
  • Highly flexible
  • The individual should be willing to work
    in any part of Uganda.
  • Age: Below 30 years
