Manager
national apex organization for Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOs)
in Uganda. It is registered under the Uganda Cooperative Societies Statute 1991
and the Uganda Cooperative Regulations 1992.
Manager will administer the Union’s Regional Office with the set policies and
strategic plan, undertake and ensure UCSCU’s presence in the field and
financial stability commensurate with the best interest of the members and
employees. This position requires one to have good relationships with
government offices.
Responsibilities:
- Represent the Union in the region and
manage day to day administration of region operations - Coordinates internal and external audits
at the regional level - Plans and executes regional projects
- Coordinates the collection of data on all
SACCOs in the region at least quarterly, and remits same to Head office - Ensure effective monitoring of SACCOs in
the region - Supervise all staff in the region
- Mobilise SACCOs to save and invest in
central Finance Facility - Ensures complaints and conflict s at
SACCOs are promptly addressed - Organizes and facilitates training
seminars for SACCOs - Market all products and services offered
by UCSC - Verifying and recommending SACCOs to UCSCU
membership - Ensure that all SACCOs in the region meet
their obligations to the Union. - Ensure effective marketing of UCSCU
products and services - Work with other stakeholders to ensure
that SACCOs are in compliance with the Cooperative Act, regulations,
bye-laws, policies, resolutions and performance standards by the Union and
industry - Participate in any SACCO development
activities within your area of jurisdiction and ensure that the interests
of UCSCU are upheld - Perform any other duties as assigned
Experience:
- The applicant should possess full
membership of internationally recognised professional accounting or
auditing body (ICPA, CIA, CCA, etc) - A post graduate qualification in a
relevant field is an added advantage - At least two years’ experience in SACCO
industry while working with a reputable financial institution or preferably
Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (SACCO) or private commercial
organisation
