Job Summary: The Project
Officer will be instrumental in the planning, implementation and development of
the objectives and targets of the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Trust Trachoma
programme. The incumbent will manage all aspects of the project cycle. The
jobholder will monitor the project expenditure and provide budget reports. The
incumbent will also be responsible to maintaining and developing strong
relationships with the hospital management team, district officials and other
crucial stakeholders. The jobholder will be tasked with ensuring   project deliverables are met from
transporting patients from camps to hospital to ensuring supplies are
maintained in camp.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold
    a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Social Sciences, Development
    Studies, Economics, Education or equivalent)
  • At least three years’ work experience,
    ideally in an INGO environment; experience in all aspects of Project
    Management in community level development programmes; and experience in
    health programming.
  • The successful candidate will have
    demonstrable experience in programme and project management; monitoring
    and evaluation; report writing; and working with a number of partners.
  • The incumbent should have strong project
    experience with the ability to analyse data and produce reports on the
    data to the wider team.
  • Previous exposure and experience and
    understanding of government systems particularly the health sector will be
    advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication,
    capacity building or facilitation skills;
  • Proven ability to work under minimum
    supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with project
    budgets and in-depth knowledge of computer packages and Global ICT
    communication systems.
  • Possess strong monitoring and evaluations
    skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
