with an NGO status, whose Vision is “A good life for all Ugandans”. UHMG works
in partnership with public, private, and civil society institutions to improve
the quality of life of Ugandans through the provision of superior and
affordable health care solutions. Using the Good Life Platform as its launch
pad, UHMG has employed uniquely designed interventions and innovative behavior
change communication approaches to raise people’s awareness of and demand for
health care services for Reproductive Health, HIV, Malaria, and Maternal &
Child Health.
Officer will take lead in the implementation of UHMG-Global Fund NFM Malaria
project’s activities as assigned in the TASO/UHMG signed addendum.
Responsibilities:
- Steer the implementation of Project
activities as assigned in the TASO/UHMG signed addendum - Build capacity of VHTs to mobilize
communities access malaria services provided at community and health
facility levels. - Engage the district officials to
participate in the mobilization, monitoring and implementation of the
project - The incumbent will represent UHMG in the
allocated districts - Actively promote integration of the
project with overall UHMG programmes in the region; such as Product
Facility, Communication - Steer the compilation of the project
progress reports for timely submission to the project - Document project best practices, success
stories and lessons learnt for replication and adoption
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the UHMG Project
Officer career opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Mass-communications, Social sciences or its equivalent. - A minimum of three years’ experience
working in public health communication. - Previous exposure and experience in
working with community health-intervention programs and in dissemination
of information through different communication channels. - Past experience in working on Behavior change
communication programs and in working with the private sector and NGOs is
an added advantage. - A background in project implementation and
health communication is of an added advantage. Good knowledge of MS Office
programs like Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. - Highly flexible, innovative, with
reporting writing, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and team
work skills, as well as networking, facilitation, strategic thinking. - A self-starter, and able to work with
minimum supervision. - Able to work with a multi-cultural
environment within the organization. - Role requires frequent travel to upcountry
districts.
