change communication approaches to raise people’s awareness of and demand for
health care services for Reproductive Health, HIV, Malaria, and Maternal &
Child Health.
Job Summary: The Project
Officer will take lead in the implementation of UHMG-Global Fund NFM Malaria
project’s activities as assigned in the TASO/UHMG signed addendum.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Steer the implementation of Project
    activities as assigned in the TASO/UHMG signed addendum
  • Build capacity of VHTs to mobilize
    communities access malaria services provided at community and health
    facility levels.
  • Engage the district officials to
    participate in the mobilization, monitoring and implementation of the
    project
  • The incumbent will represent UHMG in the
    allocated districts
  • Actively promote integration of the
    project with overall UHMG programmes in the region; such as Product
    Facility, Communication
  • Steer the compilation of the project
    progress reports for timely submission to the project
  • Document project best practices, success
    stories and lessons learnt for replication and adoption
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the UHMG Project
    Officer career opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
    Mass-communications, Social sciences or its equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience
    working in public health communication.
  • Previous exposure and experience in
    working with community health-intervention programs and in dissemination
    of information through different communication channels.
  • Past experience in working on Behavior change
    communication programs and in working with the private sector and NGOs is
    an added advantage.
  • A background in project implementation and
    health communication is of an added advantage. Good knowledge of MS Office
    programs like Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Highly flexible, innovative, with
    reporting writing, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and team
    work skills, as well as networking, facilitation, strategic thinking.
  • A self-starter, and able to work with
    minimum supervision.
  • Able to work with a multi-cultural
    environment within the organization.
  • Role requires frequent travel to upcountry
    districts.
