Assistant
received funding from the World Bank to implement Albertine Region Sustainable
Development Project (ARSDP)-Component 2- Local Access, Planning and
Development. This Project Component will finance physical planning and infrastructure development in
Hoima District, Buliisa District and Buliisa Town Council.
Driver will drive and maintain the Project vehicle in good order and mechanical
condition.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe transportation of Staff to and
from various destinations and to assist clients on entry and exit from
Vehicles as necessary; - Ensure vehicle maintenance schedules are
properly followed - Plan route and requirements by studying
schedule or ad hoc requests by the Office - Prepare delivery plan of material or items
for the ARSDP Program - The incumbent will also prepare and ensure
safety and proper parking of all vehicles at all time - Prepare and ensure completing and orderly
record of vehicle log books. - Prepare and ensure reporting all damages
to the Project Coordinator. - Keep the vehicle clean and the interiors
refreshed regularly - Assist in all Office administrative works,
delivering outgoing mails to respective areas and other works that the
Office may require including any other additional roles as directed by the
Supervisor. - Works closely with the specialist to
ensure that all physical materials needed at the scheduled destination are
loaded in the car at the time of set off. - Perform any other duties assigned by the
Project Accounts Assistant, any member of PST.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the World Bank
ARSDP Project Driver job should hold an O’ Level Certificate with at least
five passes (including a pass in English language as a must), plus a clean
driving Permit of Class “B” - Possession of defensive driving
certificate is an added advantage - Basic knowledge in auto mechanics &
maintenance is also an added advantage. - A minimum of six years of working
experience as a driver in reputable organization (s). - Must have very sober habits
- Must have clean driving history
- Highly self-motivated with demonstrated
ability to work effectively with colleagues in a team environment and with
stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds. - Demonstrated skills in retrieving
administrative information, organizing venues for functions. - Sound organizational skills and ability to
prioritize and deliver assignments as required. - Demonstrated interpersonal skills,
initiative, resourcefulness, effective time management, organizational
skills and ability to handle confidential information - Strong English language skills (verbal and
written)
