Job Summary: The Program
Manager, Health and Nutrition will provide leadership and technical oversight
for planning and implementation of health and nutrition emergency projects in
West Nile region, including internal monitoring and evaluation of the project.
Working closely with the Regional Area Manager, the Head of Health and
designated health and nutrition backstops, he/she will ensure the overall
compliance and integrity of the program, and ensure its success and visibility.
The Program Manager will work closely and liaise with the other senior project
staff in other thematic areas to spur integration and benefit from project
synergies within the response; while ensuring that project implementation is
well aligned to approved design, SCI program quality benchmarks and contributes
to SCI’s overall country and global outcomes and breakthrough for children.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Save the
Children Program Manager, Health and Nutrition vacancy should be a
Qualified health professional – Medical Doctor or Nurse with Masters in
Public Health - At least five years relevant experience
preferably in INGO for primary health care delivery - Previous experience in nutrition-related
programs - Demonstrable commitment to promoting and
supporting optimal Infant and Young Child Feeding practices - Strong skills and experience in all
aspects of programme development, including programme/project monitoring,
review & evaluation. - Substantial experience of developing
working relations with government, community stakeholders and children - Fluency in written and spoken English and
substantial experience in preparing projects proposals and reports to
donors. - Excellent interpersonal, communication and
presentation skills and commitment to capacity building of staff. - Broad knowledge and understanding of
social relations and commitment to integrate gender, diversity and other
power related issues into programme activities - Significant experience and knowledge of
effective financial and budgetary control and managing grants. - Proven skills in resource and staff
management/development and the implementation of appropriate policies,
procedures, and systems in relation to these. - Past exposure and experience of working
with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights
Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is
an added advantage. - Excellent analytical skills and strategic
planning abilities. - Ability to establish and maintain
conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a
team. - Computer literacy and excellent
documentation skills are a must. - Highly developed cultural awareness and
ability to work well in an international environment with people from
diverse backgrounds and cultures. - Ability to intervene with crisis
management or troubleshooting as necessary. - Exceptional interpersonal and
communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching. - Excellent time management and planning
capacity. - Availability and willingness to work extra
hours during times of humanitarian responses. - Willingness to travel and work in
hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
