Job Summary: The Market
Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical services to
Legal and Commercial Department, empowering the department to deliver its
services effectively. The incumbent will also play a key role in providing
assistance with data management and field industry trend reporting. The
jobholder will carry out market intelligence and research together with data
analysis metrics development.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Reporting to the National Contents
    Manager.
  • Serve as the primary contact for
    supporting local Content acquisition presentation needs.
  • Prepare analytical analyses, and report
    packages for new business proposals and Market pricing.
  • Gather business requirements and
    evaluate/analyze them for decision making.
  • Origination of PQs. (Prequalification)
    documents.
  • Work closely with consultation firms,
    carry out research and conduct analysis of economic trend, pricing trends
    of raw materials, services and utilities (steel, power, water) food etc.
  • Audit append and migrate prior data usage
    for new clients into data warehouse.
  • Consistently carry out field research
    (both in Kampala & Lake Albert Graben) and report findings
  • Quality control of information researched
    and prepared for Legal and Commercial department.
  • Perform any other duties that might be
    assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the CNOOC Market
    Intelligence Analyst job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree or
    above in Business or related.
  • At least five years or more previous
    experience working in the Marketing research, Oil/Financial industry and
    Management information systems.
  • Strong background and hands on experience
    with data analysis and metrics.
  • Computer literacy i.e. proficiency with MS
    Excel, Word, Office outlook, PowerPoint and SPSS/SAS.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of oil
    E&P.
