children and families. Children’s AIDS Fund is implementing strategies to
strengthen provision of comprehensive HIV/AIDS and TB prevention, care and
treatment services in underserved and around lake shore districts in Central
Uganda. CAF U is supporting eight HIV treatment sites providing more than
30,000 clients with services including: Comprehensive HIV Care and treatment
services, including, HCT, ART, TB/HIV, PMTCT, EID as well as community outreach
and complementary services for sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and
Maternal Child Health (MCH). The HIV treatment sites are Family Hope Centre
Kampala (FHCK), Family Hope Centre Jinja (FHCJ), Kabwohe Clinical Research
Centre (KCRC), Alive Medical Services, Namugongo Fund for Special Children,
Nurture Africa, Buwenge Hospital and Health Center (BHHC), and Bushenyi Medical
Centre (BMC).
Responsibilities:
- The Medical Director is primarily
responsible for the smooth implementation and supervision of all clinical
activities (curative, preventive, promotive and rehabilitative) at all CAF
facilities, in respect with policies and norms related to standards of
clinical practice, hygiene and for the medico-legal aspects of health
care. - The incumbent will be responsible for all
medical staff and allied professionals both junior and senior, in the line
of professional seniority and/or expertise; s/he is part of CAF Uganda
management team. - The Medical Director participates in
strategic planning and implementation; funding proposal preparation and
follow-up; donor reporting and sustainability planning for country-based
programs.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a medical
degree with an infectious disease specialty and/or Training in HIV/ AIDS
prevention, care, and treatment - Possession of post-graduate studies in
leadership management and health such as MS, MPH - At least five years’ experience in
management, three years of them in an HIV/AIDS program - At least five years of experience working
with an NGO, preferably in management and two years of experience with
U.S. federal grant program management and financial compliance
requirements.
