innovative products and services. DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth
Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the Government of
Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the name of
Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring brought in
DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners
with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to
support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not
appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.
Process & Quality Controller is directly responsible for supporting the
Credit Department in giving full insight in and improving of turnaround time
and first time right of processes and data quality in Credit Operations Unit,
Credit Approval Team, Credit Bureau and Special Asset Management. The incumbent
will also directly be responsible for supporting process redesign of Credit
Department processes and Credit Department projects and supporting Head of
Credit.
Responsibilities:
- Significantly
contribute to creating a ‘no-surprise environment by setting up and
executing regular (daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly) internal process
controls and quality monitoring – risk based controlling. - Report
the findings of internal process controls to Head of Credit and
discuss them with the managers of respective units. - Actively
propose improvements in processes and process execution. - Actively
participate in Credit Department projects. Register, report and follow up
on Incidents. - Prepare and submit regular reports for
Risk, Compliance department and facilitate Internal Audit during Credit
Audits. - Assist
the Head of Credit in annual business plan cycle and monitoring of balance
score card. - Significantly
contribute to and monitor progress of solving open audit issues
(internal audit/external auditor/supervisor/funders)
Experience:
- The applicant for the DFCU Internal
Process & Quality Controller job placement should hold a Bachelor in Accountancy, Economics or
Finance - A
minimum of three years of work experience preferably in credit or audit - Advanced
skills in managing, monitoring and reporting of data - Exceptional
Communication both in writing and speaking and Presentation skills - (Internal)
Customer Focus and Relationship Building Skills - Leadership,
Problem Solving and Decision making skills
